Complex Fluids Group
Research Interest: Complex Fluids
The interest of our group is to study the behavior
of chemical and biological systems where complex molecules
are present. We particularly seek simple models that are
able to explain the properties of these systems.
Why does water have themodynamic and dynamic
anomalies? We look for the simple mechanism that explain the
presence of such anomalies.
Why does DNA form compact structures? We develop a theory for polyelectrolyte solutions that
might lead to a better understanding of the DNA in the
presence of salt or organic solvents. We also propose a complex made of one charged polyelectrolyte
and amphiphilic molecules. This system has applications for
drug deliver mechanism.
When does negative macroions move toward
an electric field? We study the charge reversal of charged colloid
suspensions.
