Graduate Program in Physics

The Graduate Program in Physics (PPGFís) of the Physics Institute at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) offers Master and Doctoral degree courses in Physics since late 1960's. The Program covers three Concentration Areas — Experimental Physics, Theoretical Physics, and Astrophysics — in many research lines. The PPGFís has pursued a profile of excellence over the years, being granted with the highest score in all evaluations made by CAPES. This high-level Program is a result of the quality, experience, of the faculty members, currently with 78 supervisors. The Program has formed more than 420 Doctors in Science and more than 530 Masters in Physics, with currently 100+ students in the Master's and Doctoral courses.

Approved Selection Process for the Master course
The Program assume the student's score of EUF as one of the evaluation measures of the Selection Process for the Master's courses, and considers that the score of EUF is valid for 3 (three) years. More information about EUF can be found here.

Doctorate


Applications for the Selection Process of the Doctoral course of the PPGFís: Applications received until the 15th of each month will be evaluated to be registered in the upcoming month. ATTENTION: the applications to the Unified Exam for Admission to the Graduate Programs in Physics (EUF) does not imply in the automatic applications to the Selection Process of the PPGFís at UFRGS. Furthermore, the applications to the Selection Process of the PPGFís at UFRGS also does not imply in the automatic applications to the EUF.
